Trace the origin of direct paternal line. Only men carry the Y-chromosome
so it is passed only from father to son. This test is for males who would like to identify which one of the 18 major worldwide human Y chromosome lineages they belong to through the analysis of ancestry informative Y chromosome markers. This test also includes information about the donor's haplogroup and general Y chromosome background information.
Only males can take this test. Women interested in their paternal
ancestry need a father, brother, paternal uncle or paternal male
cousin to provide a DNA sample to determine their lineage. This
test traces only along the strict paternal line. For example, if
your paternal great-grandmother's lineage was Asian, it will not
be detected with this test.
